Beautiful Mothers recieved flowers from generous volunteers of AFC namely, Lito Ibusca, Dennis Monta, Billy Vela, Richard Francisco and Elgin Roxas. They all donated 20,000won each to buy a roses for mothers.

Last May 3, 2009, Sunday, AFC volunteers in coordination with Galilea Migrant Center gave tribute to Rev. Fr. John Kennady for his 1st year anniversary being a priest.
Fr. John Kennady was ordained last May 7, 2008 in India.

Fr. John Kennady thanked all AFC volunteers, Galilea and the whole community for the the tribute gave to him. He thanked them with teary eyes and totally speechless.
"I will continue praying for this community", Fr. Kennady told the AFC.
He recieved a bouquette of flowers and polo from AFC while Galilea gave him cakes and a dinner.
Ati-atihan dancers had their merienda after the dance rehearsal. They are preparing for the 60th bilateral relation celebration between Korea and Philippines. It will be held at Seoul Plaza on May 30 and 31, 2009. 
Aside from Ansan Filipino Community other FilCom are also invited to be part of the said celebration.
After the dance rehearsal of ati-atihan, AFC dancers had their dance practice for the incoming Dance Contest to be held this coming May 17, 2009. AFC dancers passed the elimination round for the said dance contest last March 26, 2009. They performed a dance medley of "aray" and "gumaquena" in front of hundreds audience including the staff from Ansan City Hall and Ansan Migrant Center.
Aside from AFC dancers, 2 more Filipino dance group passed the elimination. They are the all women group from Incheon and the Pearl of the Orient.

Fr. Jun Perez joined the AFC dancers in their dance rehearsal and served as a mentor and critics to improved their dance piece.
Roger Barrido, Service Committee Chairman of AFC had an operation on his appendicitis last April 29, 2009, wednesday at Dong Ansan Hospital.

Amid cold weather condition the Ansan Filipino Community held its 2009 Basketball Tournament opening ceremony last April 26, 2009, Sunday at the Hanyang University gym. Many Filipinos in Ansan attended the said event. It was hosted by former AFC presidents Billy Vela and Kathlia De Castro. The ceremony started with the parade of players from 12 different teams competing for the said tournament namely Guardians, Lemerians, LAHV, GSL, Ilonggo Volts, PhilTrust Travel, FMWAS, Pampanga Brothers, Amianan, Mabuhay Blades, Pangasinan and Mexican Vismin. Last year’s best forward awardees’ Bangs Musngi of Batangas Blades and now playing for Mabuhay Blades led the oath of sportsmanship.

The Ansan City Mayor Park Ju Won was not able to attend the opening ceremonies because of his prior commitments but he sent Mr. Lim Young Seun, the Chief Administrator of Ansan City on his behalf.
“This year Korea and Philippines is celebrating its 60 years of endearing relationship and I think this Basketball Tournament make our relationship deeper and more meaningful “Mayor Park Ju Won told the community through Mr. Lim Young Seun. “I hope that this AFC Basketball Tournament makes you feel happy and joyful.” He added.
The hardworking and very supportive Ambassador Luis T. Cruz also attended the ceremony and gave his greetings and short message to all Filipinos in Ansan especially to all the players. He stressed in his message that this tournament should promote friendship and unity and not competition among Filipinos. This was also the message of the AFC president, Richard Francisco.

A part of the spectacular opening ceremony was the search for Ms. Summer girl 2009. The nine (9) young and gorgeous muses represented their teams with poise and glamour. They are equally beautiful and intelligent that made the judges spent long time in picking the winners. The muse of FMWAS Ms. Crisel Esayas won the 2nd runner-up while Ms. Eileen Villamatter of LAHV took the 1st runner-up. KC Conception look-alike Venise Dumandan of Ilonggo Volts was hailed as the 2009 Ms. Summer Girl. She amazed the judges with her answer during the question and answer portion of the said mini pageant. The team of LAHV impressed the judges with their well-designed uniform bringing home the best in uniform award. They received 100 thousand won in cash as prize.

2009 AFC Basketball Committee
At the end of the day, the teams of Mexican Vismin, Mabuhay Blades, GSL, Pangasinan, Ilonggo Volts, and FMWAS won their first battle against their opponents. This basketball tournament will run for 13 weeks with the championship game tentatively scheduled on July 26, 2009 at Choji High School Gym.
Volunteers of Ansan Filipino Community or AFC held their yearly election of officers at the conference room of Wongok church last February 22, 2009. This year’s election was attended by 36 active AFC volunteers who was observed and supported by Galilea Staff. Before the election, the out-going AFC President Kathlia De Castro thanked all volunteers for all their supports and efforts rendered during her administration. She also encouraged all volunteers to be a part of this year’s set of officers. “Thank you for all your support. It was such a privilege and honor to serve you”, out-going President told the volunteers. “Others should experience it because somehow it will also touch your lives”, De Castro added.

Hindi napigilan ni Ehvie Francisco ang maluha ng magpaalam ito sa AFC noong nakaraang linggo February 01, 2009. Sa kanyang talumpati ay pinasalamat niya ang mga kaibigan, kapwa volunteer, galilea staff at ang kanyang pamilya. SI Ehvie ay naging bahagi ng AFC ng mahigit 3 taon. Kanyang ipinakita ang galing at talento sa pagsasayaw at pag-awit. Naging bahagi din siya ng Galilean Newsletter kung saan isa siya sa naging writer at editor nito. Siya rin ang isa sa mga Press Relation Officer ng AFC bago nito iwanan ang Ansan.

Nagtipun-tipon ang mga AFC volunteers sa SVD house sa Choji nitong nakaraang linggo, January 25, 2009. Pagkatapos ng misa ay agad na nag-asikaso ang mga ito para ihanda ang mga pagkain at ilang gamit na gagamitin.
Bandang alas 630pm ng gabi ng magsimulang magtungo ang lahat sa nasabing lugar. grupo-grupo itong nagtungo sa SVD house sa pamamagitan ni Fr. Dennis Callan na sumundo sa mga ito sa pamamagitan ng Istana na sasakayan ng Galilea.
Matapos iayos ang lahat ay nagkaroon muna ng munting tribute para sa Ama ng AFC na si Fr. Eugene na nakatakda ng umalis kinabukasan pabalik sa Pinas.
Ang munting tribute ay isang sopresa para kilalanin ang mga magandang naiambag nito sa Ansan at sa lahat ng mga nakasama nito sa nakalipas na 20 taon.
